Press Release: Harley-Davidson Unveils the Inaugural Enthusiast Collection, Paying Tribute to Community Stories
Milwaukee, WI (June 21, 2022) – Harley-Davidson proudly presents its latest initiative, the Enthusiast Collection, a yearly release of special-edition motorcycles inspired by the diverse narratives and experiences within the Harley-Davidson community. This exclusive collection, launched today, features unique paint designs celebrating the individual backgrounds and passions of riders in the Harley-Davidson community. The Enthusiast Collection will showcase a different design each year, available in limited quantities across selected motorcycle models.
Jochen Zeitz, Chairman, President, and CEO of Harley-Davidson, shared, "The Enthusiast Collection motorcycles draw inspiration from the incredible stories of Harley-Davidson riders. We are excited to kick off this program with the G.I. Enthusiast Collection, a tribute to the legacy of those who have served or are actively serving in the U.S. Armed Forces."
To mark the launch, two distinguished U.S. veterans, Gary Wetzel and Brian “Amarok” Critton, will receive G.I. Enthusiast Collection models. Wetzel, a Medal of Honor recipient from the Vietnam War, and Critton, an Army veteran active in supporting fellow servicemen, embody the spirit of Harley-Davidson enthusiasts through their remarkable stories.
Features of the 2022 Enthusiast Collection: The G.I. Enthusiast Collection boasts the exclusive Mineral Green Denim Deluxe paint, a novel color crafted specifically for this collection, adorned with service-inspired graphics. This collection is available exclusively as a factory-installed option for the Pan America 1250 Special and Tri Glide Ultra models, in limited quantities primarily for the U.S. market.
Brad Richards, Harley-Davidson Vice President of Design, described the new Mineral Green Denim Deluxe paint, stating, "This color pays homage to the Olive Drab paint used on Harley-Davidson WLA models. The metallic effect adds a subtle gold highlight, creating a dramatic color travel that accentuates the bike's shape."
Richards continued, "The tank graphic celebrates the iconic white five-point star used during WWII on military vehicles, with a stenciled ‘H-D’ and the location of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, inspired by the spec tags on government-issued military equipment."
