This summer, the world of custom Harley-Davidsons witnessed the introduction of the Shiny Star, a Heritage model transformed by the German custom specialists Thunderbike into a classic touring marvel. Now, the focus shifts to its counterpart: the Blazing Star.
Originally a 2023 Breakout, the Blazing Star deviates from its name by embodying a colder aesthetic. This custom creation is designed to mirror the Shiny Star, with both bikes set to embark on long-distance journeys together as they belong to a pair.
Tailored for the male rider in the duo, the Blazing Star starts with the more robust Breakout as its foundation. Thunderbike’s modifications are extensive, aligning the Blazing Star's look with its counterpart.
The custom work begins with the wheels. Thunderbike opted for hardware with the same dimensions as the stock wheels—21 inches at the front and 18 inches at the rear—but made them slightly wider. Custom fenders, including a steel rear fender with integrated LED lights, complement the wheels. Both are supported by an air ride suspension system.
The rear modifications are notably more pronounced, featuring a pulley brake conversion and a relocated license plate holder to enhance the bike's right side view, showcasing what Thunderbike refers to as the "show side" of a Harley.
The bike features a leather seat mounted at the rear, while the shiny fuel tank is topped with a custom sat-nav holder designed specifically for this project.
Underneath, the engine remains the stock 117ci unit from Harley-Davidson, but benefits from enhanced airflow with a KessTech exhaust system and a matching filter.
While Thunderbike has not disclosed the exact cost of the Blazing Star, estimates suggest a price nearing $40,000. The stock Breakout starts at $22,499, with approximately $11,800 worth of custom parts added, alongside labor and paint costs.
