The Milwaukee-based giant unveiled not just one but four motorcycles. Though they aren't entirely new, as they are based on previous models, each brings something unique to the table.
Harley-Davidson has rolled out some of its special edition bikes, particularly those in the Icons and Enthusiast collections.
The Icons collection is all about paying tribute to some of the company’s most significant historical models or groundbreaking technologies. This year, that means introducing the Hydra-Glide Revival.
As the name suggests, this model honors the 1949 release of the Hydra-Glide telescopic front suspension for the E and F models. Additionally, the Hydra-Glide Revival serves as a nod to the upcoming biker movie starring Tom Hardy, The Bikeriders.
The second collection, Enthusiast, celebrates Harley riders themselves, drawing inspiration from their stories and legacies. While the specifics of these stories aren't always shared, the bikes in this collection are intriguing enough to warrant a closer look.
Unlike Icons, which typically releases a single motorcycle per year, the Enthusiast collection usually debuts in groups of three.
Previously, the Enthusiast collection focused on the Low Rider ST, Street Glide ST, and Road Glide ST. These limited-edition bikes (2,000 units each) were designed to honor a 1920s Harley rider named Ray Weishaar and his mascot piglet, Johnnie, hence the series was dubbed "Fast Johnnie."
This year, Harley revisited the Enthusiast lineup with the Tobacco Fade series, featuring the Low Rider ST, Ultra Limited, and Tri Glide Ultra.
According to Harley, the Tobacco Fade series isn't about tobacco, but about music. Specifically, these special models celebrate "the burst of collective energy released by live music at the corner tavern, at a motorcycle rally, or the live stage at the Harley-Davidson Homecoming Festival."
As with previous iterations of this series, the modifications to the bikes are purely cosmetic, with no mechanical changes from their stock versions. But the visuals are striking enough to make them stand out.
The Tobacco Fade paint scheme and graphics draw inspiration from the sunburst wood finish popularized by 1960s rock and roll instruments like guitars, basses, and drums.
The warm brown hue covers most of the bikes' body parts, including the fairing, fuel tank, fenders, and covers. Caramel-colored pinstripes and metallic gold accents add an extra layer of style to the design.
The crowning touch is the medallion on the fuel tank, inspired by the grooves of a vinyl record. A graphic on the front fender, resembling a guitar pick, completes the look.
Each of the three motorcycles comes with an Enthusiast Collection-branded logo on the Tour-Pak luggage carrier or rear fender.
Like the Icons model, the Enthusiast bikes will be produced in limited quantities—just 2,000 units of each will be sold globally. Pricing is comparable to the stock versions.
The Low Rider ST, with its 117ci Milwaukee-Eight engine, is available in Tobacco Fade for $25,299. The Ultra Limited, with its plethora of features and iconic batwing fairing, is priced at $35,399. And leading the pack in price is the Tri Glide Ultra, the only trike that truly matters, starting at $41,999 in Tobacco Fade.
