In 2023, Harley-Davidson commemorated its 120th anniversary with a special release: the limited-edition CVO Road Glide Limited. Adding to the typical CVO enhancements, the 2023 Harley-Davidson CVO Road Glide Limited Anniversary Edition boasts distinctive commemorative paint, Alcantara seats adorned with gold and red stitching, and console inserts featuring laser-etched serialization.
At the heart of this unique motorcycle lies The Motor Company’s Milwaukee-Eight 117 engine. We had previously tested the same engine in the 2023 Harley-Davidson Breakout 117 and were impressed by its impressive torque delivery.
Using our in-house Dynojet 250i dynamometer, the 2023 Harley-Davidson CVO Road Glide Limited Anniversary Edition showcased its power, generating 90.1 hp at 4,660 rpm and 111.2 lb.-ft. of torque at 3,290 rpm. Despite producing slightly lower peak horsepower and torque figures compared to the Breakout 117 and tipping the scales at 963 pounds on the Cycle World automotive scales (281 pounds heavier than the Breakout), the CVO Road Glide Limited exhibits a noticeable delay in acceleration from a standstill to the next stoplight.
While the performance metrics of the 2023 Harley-Davidson Road Glide Limited Anniversary Edition might not surpass those of the Breakout on paper, it caters to riders in a different manner. Our testing team found themselves enamored with its comfort, personality, and allure. Cruising in opulence and style while enjoying tunes through the Rockford Fosgate Stage 1 audio system delivers an unparalleled experience—a quintessential Harley-Davidson experience. For those seeking additional acceleration, Harley’s 2024 CVO Road Glide Limited offers the larger VVT Milwaukee-Eight 121 V-twin engine.
