Enthusiast-Built Harley-Davidson Car Debuts at Born Free Event

Aaron Boss has built a single-seater race car powered by a Harley-Davidson engine, showcasing his innovation and skill in custom fabrication. The car features a supercharged 2023 Milwaukee-Eight engine, advanced suspension, sprint car-influenced rear suspension, and an all-black finish. Unveiled at the Born Free Show, Aaron's creation has received overwhelmingly positive feedback and aims to break speed records at the Bonneville Salt Flats.

The custom motorcycle world has long been a haven for creativity, but Aaron Boss has once again pushed the boundaries of innovation. Last month, we spoke with the outgoing bike designer about his incredible project of creating a single-seater race car powered by a Harley-Davidson engine, and he had a lot to share with us. Now, the master craftsman at Roland Sands Design has taken his daring project to the finish line and unveiled his custom Harley-Davidson car at the Born Free Show. The sleek, all-black single-seater speedster, with the iconic Harley-Davidson badge proudly displayed on its rear wing, has captured the attention and admiration of everyone.

Aaron’s journey from concept to creation has been nothing short of extraordinary. The process, which he described as both challenging and exhilarating, showcases his skill and dedication to custom fabrication. The centerpiece of this unique build is the 2023 Milwaukee-Eight engine from a Road Glide ST, supercharged to deliver an astonishing 200 horsepower. This power, combined with the car’s lightweight construction and aerodynamic design, sets the stage for potentially record-breaking speeds at the Bonneville Salt Flats, where Aaron plans to take it next.

The car features a custom frame, advanced suspension systems, and a complex integration of Harley-Davidson components, including stock side panels, gauge clusters, and mirrors. The sprint car-influenced rear suspension, with its torsion bars and rear axle, highlights Aaron’s creative approach to this project.

Key Specifications:

  • Engine: 2023 Milwaukee-Eight from a Road Glide ST, supercharged to 200 hp
  • Chassis: Custom-built, utilizing advanced off-road and race car technologies
  • Suspension: Sprint car-influenced rear suspension with torsion bars
  • Bodywork: All-black finish with chrome powder-coated, ceramic-coated, and full show car paint job
  • Interior: Single-seater, retaining stock Harley-Davidson gauge cluster and hand controls
  • Top Speed: Aiming for 249 mph at Bonneville

The moment of truth arrived at the Born Free Show, where Aaron’s creation was revealed to an eager audience. The car’s all-black exterior, curvy lines, and the Harley-Davidson badge on the rear wing made an immediate impact. The reception has been overwhelmingly positive so far.

With the Born Free Show unveiling behind him, Aaron’s sights are now set on testing the car at El Mirage and ultimately at the Bonneville Salt Flats. The goal is to achieve a top speed of 249 mph, a feat that would solidify this custom Harley-Davidson car as one of the fastest in its class.
