When planning a birthday party for a seven-year-old, motorcycles might not be the first theme that comes to mind. But for Paisley Clemons, riding with her stepdad on his motorcycle is one of her favorite pastimes.
“She was tiny, and I’d always put her on the front of the bike to ride up and down the street,” said Lonnell Washington. “From that moment on, she fell in love with motorcycles.”
Paisley’s mom, Alexis Clemons, shared, “She loves bikes and the sound of the throttle. It brings her pure joy.”
So when it was time to plan Paisley’s seventh birthday, she knew exactly what she wanted—a motorcycle-themed celebration.
A Harley-Davidson dealership on Arthur Street in the Saint Joseph neighborhood embraced the idea, hosting a Harley-themed birthday party complete with drinks, snacks, and an impressive display of bikes.
The gesture was deeply meaningful to Paisley’s parents. Clemons recalls that Paisley faced a life-threatening situation at birth. She wasn’t breathing and had to be revived, making every birthday a precious milestone.
“This party symbolizes the adrenaline and throttle that jump-started her life,” Clemons explained. “We’re celebrating not just her birthday but her life. Bikers are coming through to wish her a happy birthday, let her admire the bikes, and enjoy the sounds that mean so much to her.”
