A Harley-riding funeral director honors his mom with a charity ride for the Moray Resource Centre.

A funeral director faced summer hailstorms and freezing winds during a 900-mile Harley Davidson ride inspired by his mother’s battle with dementia.

Graham Rattray, 59, from Lossiemouth, completed the ride from Land’s End to John O’Groats in under 24 hours, raising £18,530 for the Moray Resource Centre’s Client Comfort Fund—18 times his initial target.

Despite a challenging start with temperatures just above freezing and harsh weather, Graham and friend Peter Ross persevered. At the finish, Graham’s mother, Betty, surprised him by getting on the bike, a rare and joyful moment given her usual reaction to motorcycles.

Graham was thrilled to see the support at John O’Groats and praised the Moray Resource Centre for the positive impact it has on his mother and others. Although he initially vowed never to undertake such a challenge again, he has since reconsidered, saying he would definitely do it again if asked.
