Harley-Davidson Reaches Landmark: 1 Million Riders Trained

Harley-Davidson, Inc. (NYSE: HOG) proudly announced today that it has successfully trained one million riders through its Riding Academy program, solidifying its position as the largest rider training initiative in the United States.

"We're thrilled to reach this incredible milestone of one million riders trained. The Harley-Davidson Riding Academy plays a crucial role in promoting rider education and safety for both new and experienced riders. Our commitment to building a strong rider community and deepening our connection with our customers aligns with our goal to be the most sought-after motorcycle and lifestyle brand in the world," stated Jochen Zeitz, Chairman, CEO, and President of Harley-Davidson.

The program, originally launched in 2000 as Rider's Edge and rebranded in 2013 as the Harley-Davidson® Riding Academy, now operates through a network of over 225 Harley-Davidson dealerships across 43 states. This makes it the largest rider training network in the country and the only nationwide rider licensing program sponsored by a motorcycle manufacturer.

Offering a comprehensive range of premium rider development experiences, the Harley-Davidson Riding Academy enhances and enriches the journey of any rider. The cornerstone of this training is the New Rider Course, designed to help students realize their dream of riding a motorcycle.

Additionally, the Riding Academy offers courses for intermediate riders, those looking to operate a 3-Wheel vehicle, Adventure Touring riding, and Skills Practice for riders wishing to improve their abilities on their own motorcycles. In most states, successful completion of the New Rider, Intermediate, or 3-Wheel Course grants students a license waiver, allowing them to obtain a motorcycle endorsement from their state DMV.

The majority of Harley-Davidson® Riding Academy coaches are dual-certified by both the Riding Academy and the Motorcycle Safety Foundation (MSF), ensuring adherence to the highest standards of professionalism, safety, and adult-learning principles. The Academy proudly boasts more than 1,500 certified coaches in its network.
