All-Women Moto Collective Marks Harley Davidson Homecoming with a Bang

This weekend, Milwaukee was alive with the exhilarating sounds of revving engines as the city hosts the Harley-Davidson Homecoming celebration. Riders from around the globe converge on Milwaukee to experience the unique thrill of motorcycling.

Representing the women in the mix is The Litas Milwaukee, a chapter of the global all-women moto collective. Valerie Hoppens, co-founder of The Litas Milwaukee, explains that unlike traditional motorcycle clubs, The Litas welcomes everyone—regardless of whether they own a bike.

"We have branches worldwide," Hoppens said. "I could be in Arkansas or Italy, and I'd find a Litas sister ready to show me a great time."

This weekend, some members from The Litas chapters in California have made the journey to Milwaukee to join the festivities.

"I’m excited to see so many people from across the country in one place," said Christal Hardman, a Litas member from California.

As the celebration continues, the Litas are fully immersed in the Homecoming spirit. "No sleep for the wicked," Hoppens declared. "It's a constant party with family coming together."

In a predominantly male-centric culture, The Litas highlight the importance of creating a space for women. "Women empowerment—that's what The Litas Global Collective stands for," Hoppens added.
